Thinking of the New iPad? Think again...

With the new iPad coming soon, people are crazy about getting their hands on one. However, let's think deep, is the Retina Display really that ideal? Okay, many die hard Apple fans would argue that the all new retina display will provide a more vibrant and clear look for your photos, books, and videos. Yet, think again, with this extremely high demand of pixels, Apple has to redesign their apps, and this would mean bigger files, about 3 to 4 times larger than the previous version. Besides that, when Apple is working extremely hard to upgrade all its apps to support the HD display, other apps developers are not quite ready. As you know, we still have more iPad 2 users around the world, and it is still increasing rapidly, partly due to the price drop (My cousin already ordered one 3G model right after the announcement was made). So with so many previous generation iPad in the users' hands, it's most likely that the developers will slow down their pace in rebuilding their existing apps.

Okay, so, increasing number of pixels, larger file size; 1080p video support, another increase in video file size; higher mega pixel camera, another increment in photo sizes, and does Apple increase the new iPad's flash drive capacity? Nope, still the same old 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. Right now, can you see the whole picture already? And not forgetting to mention the battery life! We all are happy while Apple announced that the new iPad, despite its retina display, Quad Core graphic and 5 MP camera, will still maintain 1 hours battery life. But, think again, to support all these power drain, Apple have to pack in a larger battery, which if apply to the existing iPad 2, could definite provide way much longer of battery life (it's rumored that the battery capacity of the new iPad is even larger than Macbook Air's). So was it worth to add in the retina display? It's up to you to judge. But right now, I would happily stay with my iPad 2, watching videos of people in blankets queuing for the new iPad.
