Thunderbird 8: A Worthy Competitor

For those who have a habit of using e-mail client like Outlook Express, there are now some worthy reasons for you to make a change. The new Thunderbird e-mail software is out! Coming with this update, are some awesome features. One of the most significant features is the lightning add-on, which let add calender entries, create new events, manage to-do list, etc. You can also try the ThunderBrowse add-on if you like the idea of browsing the web right from your e-mail client. It is also ideal as you can access the web links of your email messages right from your Thunderbird, without opening it at your web browser. There's also an Adblock Plus add-on available for Thunderbird if you want extra protection for your mail client. Another favourite feature of mine is the tab browsing experience offered by Thunderbird. Both sharing the same browser engine, Thunderbird and its brother, Mozilla Firefox will give you similar feel of layout and functionality.

Thunderbird is currently officially part of the Firefox rapid-release program, thus users will see a more frequent update.
