A Taste of the New Windows

For those out there who are already drooling on the pictures and preview videos of Windows 8, this might a great opportunity for you to have a taste on this new OS concept all by yourself. The Windows official Development Center has just released a Windows Developer Preview for apps and software developers. It is something like a pre-beta version of Windows 8 and includes both 32-bit and 64-bit version. The download file provided in the official website is in ISO file format, and has a size of 4.8GB, which you can only burn into a larger size DVD-9.There are 28 Metro style apps bundled in the installation file, including the Conference app.

Although it sounds exciting, the development center has warned the users that this version is designed for developers, and it may not be stable, operate correctly or function like the finalized version. Therefore, if you're really interested in this Windows preview, please use it only only for testing purposes, not for replacing your current Windows. Any consequences shall be bear by the users themselves.

Once you've done snooping around, you might want to uninstall this Windows Preview. Note that there's no uninstall option for this Windows, the only thing you can do to revert back to your previous OS is to reformat and reinstall your Windows using the installation media that you have. Another option would be creating another partition with minimum 25GB space and set up a dual boot Windows 8.
